Upcoming Events and Exhibitions

Regarding workshops and residencies she says :

"I specialise in machine embroidery, offering courses for all ranges of experience. In particular I work with matt and shiny heavyweight threads in the spool, creating textiles that have an intense and painterly feel to them.
I am happy to cater for students at different levels from beginners to those with experience.
I have a flexible approach to teaching and can offer all sorts of different starting points and embroidery techniques, as well as day schools on drawing and designing."

In addition to exhibiting, running workshops and fulfilling commissions, Carol is accumulating wide experience of curating prestigious exhibitions based on many years of co-curating the SDC exhibitions at the Mall Galleries.

Awards

Craft and Design Selected Silver Award

Awarded the craft&design Selected Silver Award 2013: Textiles & Needlecrafts presented by "Craft & Design" Magazine. The specialist judge, Kaffe Fassett, made the statement "Carol's silky texture and the abstraction of the landscapes that she depicts are what single out her work for me. There is a subtleness to the palette that I'm sure will make the work very liveable."
